FAQ
Q.
What are the dimensions?
A. We have tried to maximise the size of the roof whilst keeping the sunroof fully functional. The dimensions of the platform are 1360mm wide, 1900 long and the support rails are 2230mm front to back.

Q. How much height does the roof rack add?
A. Measuring from the centre of the roof, the highest part, it adds 55mm.

Q. How do I fit the wind deflector?
A. Using 4x slide nuts of the M6 size, you slide them into the front rail from the underside. Affix the wind deflector in such a way that the angular side is at the front of the roof rack. When looking at the front of the vehicle it should deflect air and water toward the roof (not scoop it.) You will have to use 4x m6x25mm button head screws and an alen key to tighten.
NOTE: it is far easier to do this when not fitted to the vehicle and while the rack is upside down being assembled

Q. What are the right-angle brackets for?
A. These are our complimentary awning mounts for an awning. They are attached using the m8x25mm button heads and slight nights on any side of the roof rack.

Q. What are the 24 rubber washers for?
A. These are for sealing the gaps when mounting the rails to the vehicle.
One goes on the roof, then the rail, then the other on top. A silver washer then goes on top and is tightened down with the stainless hex bolts into the roof.
NOTE: additional sealant is advised to prevent any leaks from getting through to the roof liner.

In accordance with Australian Standards AS 1235-2000 - Paragraphs 6.2,6.3 & 6.4 DASH Offroad has the below ratings for this roof rack

Static load less than 400kg: This is for when the vehicle is not in motion and weight that can safely be added on top of the roof rack, for example, roof top tent and occupants.

On-road 120kg: We have conducted destructive testing to prove that this rack can withstand 120kg of additional weight on top of the rack for on-road use without causing any deformation or failure. Strongly note that the roof limit for a Nissan Patrol Y62 is 100kg and should not be exceeded. This includes the cargo AND the weight of your roof rack.

Off-road 120kg: Three directional dynamic tests were conducted, as stipulated in AS 1235-2000: Cyclic Test – Dynamic factor 3 to 2,000,000, Cycles infinite life. For this roof rack, there will be no penalty of weight rating reduction when used in an off-road application. Strongly note that the roof limit for a Nissan Patrol Y62 is 100kg and should not be exceeded. This includes the cargo AND the weight of your roof rack.

City crash test – Frontal impact: The Dash Offroad Roof Rack was tested for 120kg safe load capacity to ISO 11154:2006, TSF3905G and TSF3905G-1 and PASSED all the requirements prescribed by the above standards, without degradation of the system to extent that would affect the safety of the vehicle occupants or other road users.

Poor Powder coat finish

By: on 5 January 2024
I had the 3/4 rack fitted and it looks great. I am disappointed however to see that the black powdercoat has already begun to flake off. Given I’ve not yet attached anything other than my maxtrax (with the Dash fixings) to the rails, it seems the finish quality could be better.
